OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY - DELTAWAITE LTD
Deltawaite recognises its duty to comply with the Health and Safety at Work, etc Act 1974 and will, as far as is reasonably practicable, commit to prevent work-related injury and ill health by:
- Providing adequate resources to maintain health and safety;
- Carrying out risk assessments and review them when necessary to eliminate hazards and reduce OH&S risks;
- Providing and maintaining systems of work which are Safe and without risk to health;
- Providing employees with such information, instruction, training and supervision as is necessary to secure their safety and health at work and that of others who may be affected by their actions;
- Carrying out health surveillance, where required;
- Ensuring that all machinery, plant and equipment is maintained in a safe condition;
- Keeping the workplace safe and ensure that access and egress are safe and without risk;
- Monitoring safety performance to maintain agreed standards and objectives.
THE DUTIES OF THE EMPLOYEES ARE TO:
- Take reasonable care of their own health and safety, and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work;
- Co-operate with others in the company to fulfil our statutory duties;
- Not interfere with, misuse or wilfully damage anything provided in the interest of health and safety.
TO ENSURE THAT THIS POLICY IS EFFECTIVE, WE WILL:
- Consult with, and encourage participation of, workers in the development of the OH&S Management System (OH&SMS).
- Maintain procedures for communication and consultation between all levels of staff on matters of health, safety, and welfare;
- Establish and maintain a OH&SMS which meets and exceeds the requirements of ISO 45001 and other applicable regulatory, legislative, and operational requirements;
- The Management Team ensures that employees are made aware of the OH&S Policy and OH&SMS procedures and that adequate awareness and training resources are given to them in respect of the equality requirements and that suitable competency is established and maintained.
Deltawaite are committed to the continual improvement of its OH&SMS and to achieve this the specified OH&S policy, procedures and objectives are reviewed for their suitability on an annual basis as a minimum during the Management Review.
